A brief history of graphic design

The history of graphic design starts with the production of manuscripts in ancient civilizations, which emphasized typography. For centuries, early artists—usually commissioned or, like medieval monks, duty-bound by vocation to work in the realms of mysticism, religion, and state affairs—had few tools at their disposal. They had to etch and ink representations painstakingly on stone, clay, papyrus, bark, parchment, and vellum. With technological progress, the field developed into a distinct profession.

Late 19th and early 20th centuries, the creation of print media using a combination of visual and textual content grew.

How graphic design helps in:

It can help us to use our creativity to solve a problem and communicate things visually.

Problem Solving:

The graphic design has the power to solve any problem. Every great experience we experience in day-to-day life is a result of an excellent design that solves a problem. Imagin the chair you sit, a computer that you use, and the house that you live in has designed in a way to give you a solution to your specific problem. That’s how graphic design helps in problem-solving.

It’s a great tool that we can use through which makes anything and everything.

Often time, we are not able to understand a long paragraph, but we can quickly identify an image even though it communicates the same.

That is how graphic design solves problems.

For example, to communicate beauty, you’ll need so many words, but you can use graphical representations such as images, colors, and typography of the same to tell a great story.
